What is Lip Augmentation?
Lip augmentation can be achieved through dermal filler injections, which result in immediate outcomes with no downtime. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers such as Juvéderm and Restylane products are among the most popular lip augmentation fillers used today. This is because there are many benefits in using hyaluronic-acid based fillers, including better control over lip volume, less bruising, and smoother results. Also, because hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance, an allergic reaction is highly unlikely.

How is the Lip Augmentation Procedure Done?
Lip augmentation using fillers is performed in the office. A topical numbing cream may be applied prior to injections to ensure your comfort. Dr. Walker will cleanse your lips and utilize a very small needle to skillfully inject filler into your lips. He may then gently massage the filler to distribute it evenly in the lips. The treatment takes only about 15 minutes with minimal to no downtime thereafter.
Lip Augmentation Recovery
Following your treatment, there is little to no downtime required, so you can return to your daily routine as soon as you feel comfortable. Mild bruising, swelling, and redness typically occur for the first 1-3 days, which is completely normal. You should be able to notice an immediate change in your lips, though final results will be noticeable after all swelling goes down, which is usually within one week. Results from lip augmentation using fillers can last anywhere from 6-12 months, depending on the filler used and your level of physical activity. In order to maintain your results, touch-up appointments may be needed.
